Where can I get tested?

Home Tests

  • COVID-19 rapid at-home tests are now available at no cost from the federal government. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order 4 at-home COVID-19 tests. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days. Register at covidtests.gov.

  • The State of Wisconsin and Vault Medical Services have teamed up to offer a COVID-19 testing option for everyone who lives in Wisconsin, with or without symptoms, at no cost. This new service allows people to collect their own saliva samples for testing in their homes. Request your free Vault COVID-19 test here.

  • You may also purchase at-home test kits at some retailers, including Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart, and be reimbursed by your insurance company. The type of test and the amount of time it takes for results can vary. Some at-home tests may require a follow-up test for confirmation. Please contact your local public health department if you receive a positive result or have questions about your results. The Rock County Public Health Department can be reached at 608-757-5440.

What should I do after I get tested?
While you wait for your COVID-19 test results, continue to take steps to keep yourself and others safe. Follow recommendations to self-isolate and self-monitor in order to protect yourself and your community from COVID-19. If you are vaccinated and do not have symptoms, you do not need to quarantine, but you should wear a mask in public for 14 days or until your test result is negative. If your test result is positive, you should follow the current recommendations for isolation regardless of vaccination status.
