Drive Way/Access Point Permits

These permits are required and used by the Highway Department to maintain safe and efficient ingress and egress for all county highways, including any and all driveways and snowmobile trails.  Permits are used to restrict and regulate access to county highways to promote public safety.  An access permit is required for the following considerations:

  • Adding an access point
  • Moving an access point
  • Changing the current use of an access point (e.g., from agricultural to residential)
  • Paving an existing access point
